Hector’s House Monthly Round Up – July 2025💚✨

What a month it’s been! We’ve been out and about connecting with so many wonderful people, raising awareness, and building partnerships that will help us reach even more hearts in our community💚
Here’s a look at everything we’ve been up to this month…

Building New Partnerships🌳

We kicked things off with an exciting meeting with Tree Monkey Tree Care to start our collaboration – we got the opportunity to watch the wood get processed through the chipper into wood chip and get collected ready to be renewed into energy. The wood chip has a commercial value which Tree Monkey Tree Care are very kindly donating to us! It was great being able to see this process🌲 Thank you John and the whole Tree Monkey team⭐

Skinfest in memory of Andy Day🎤

We were honoured to be part of Skinfest, a beautiful event held in memory of Andy Day. Friends, family, and the local community came together to celebrate Andy’s life with music, laughter, and love❤️
We are deeply grateful that the organisers chose to donate the proceeds from the day to Hector’s House. Their generosity will help us continue providing vital support to those who need it most.

Supporting Police Wellbeing👮‍♂️

This month, we’ve been busy supporting our friends in the police force:

We ran our Wellbeing Workshop to the Herts Police recruits – helping to equip them with tools for mental wellbeing from the very start of their careers.

We also joined Thames Valley Police for their Wellbeing Event in Aylesbury, connecting with officers and sharing resources to help them look after their mental health.

Taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge🗻

A huge congratulations to our incredible 3 Peaks Challenge team who braved the climbs and the elements to raise vital funds for Hector’s House. You are all absolute heroes! 🏔💪
3 Peaks team member Kim Reed wrote a full blog post on their experience. Check it out here.

Ludgershall Bikers Awareness Stand🚲

We set up our Awareness Stand at the Ludgershall Bikers event, we got to meet so many passionate bikers and chatted about the importance of mental health awareness.

Great Missenden Tennis Club🎾

We were honoured to be part of the Great Missenden Tennis Club’s Charity of the Year event. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along and supported us – we’re so grateful for your generosity and energy.

Kings Langley Football Club Awareness Stand⚽

We loved connecting with the local football community at Kings Langley Football Club – sharing our mission, having meaningful conversations, and feeling the community spirit.

Tring Carnival🎡

What an unforgettable day at this year’s Tring Carnival! We joined the parade in style, riding on our bright and cheerful Hector’s House float as we made our way down the High Street. Surrounded by our amazing volunteers and supporters filled with good vibes, music, and a sea of friendly faces, all helping us spread our message of hope and connection.

After the parade, we headed to our awareness stand, where the celebrations continued. Visitors enjoyed our tombola, while we also shared important conversations around suicide prevention through education, awareness, and support. It was heartwarming to see so many people engage, ask questions, and learn more about how they can make a difference in our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, took part – we felt so much love from our hometown💚

First Compassionate Herts Group🫶

This month marked the very first Compassionate Herts Group in Bishop’s Stortford – a safe space to connect, share, and find support with others who have been in a similar position to you of having previously attempted suicide. We’re so proud to see this group begin its journey.

Ongoing Support Groups🤝

Alongside all these events, our regular Carers Support Group has continued to meet, offering a safe space for those who care for others to connect and recharge.

And of course, Hector’s Gentle Man’s Club and HecTalk have been providing a place for men to talk openly, share experiences, and find strength in community.

And finally a big Thank You – none of this would be possible without our incredible volunteers, supporters, and community partners. Whether you stopped by our stand, joined a group, climbed a mountain, or simply shared a kind word – you are part of what makes Hector’s House so special💚
