May round-up💚

What a month it’s been at Hector’s House! From scaling peaks to mindful movement, May was a great reminder of how community, creativity, and compassion can come together to support mental health.

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to…

We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Celine to the Hector’s House team! Her passion, energy, and deep commitment to supporting our community are already shining through. She’s hit the ground running, and we feel so lucky to have her on board. Welcome to the HH family, Celine! 💐

Hector’s House were lucky enough to be supported by 2 musical fundraisers this month – The One Crown Watford Fundraiser and Johan’s Spring party. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported us through these events. The atmosphere was full of joy, connection, and incredible local talent💚🎸

Hector’s Gentle-Man’s Club hosted a yoga session for the lads this month, creating space for men to move, reflect, and open up about their feelings🧘 Find out more about our next Hector’s Gentle-Mans Club by emailing declan@hectorshouse.org.uk

We were proud to take part in the Watford FC Mental Health World Cup⚽ A powerful day where multiple mental health organisations came together to spread awareness and break the stigma of mental health. A massive thank you to everyone who played, supported, and raised  their voices for mental health awareness🏆💚

To our incredible fundraisers who braved the elements this month for the Welsh 3000 Challenge – we are SO proud of you! While the weather wasn’t on your side this time ⛈️ your determination and passion for the cause shine brighter than ever. We can’t wait to cheer you on when you return to tackle those peaks again! ⛰️🌟

Another fundraiser this month was Sip and Paint – hosted by our wonderful volunteer Katie hosted at The One Crown, Watford. Thank you to Katie and everyone who joined us and supported our mission through art🖌️💜

We were honoured to speak with the Aylesbury Cadets this month, leading an open and honest EML talk. Their empathy, curiosity, and willingness to learn filled us with hope for the future🙌 If you would like a talk at your organisation please email hihector@hectorshouse.org.uk

This month, we teamed up with Togetherall to share a joint blog exploring how digital support and local community action go hand in hand. It reminds us that support can come in many forms – and that we’re stronger when we work together💻💬 Read the blog here – The power of community: How Hector’s House and Togetherall are supporting mental health | Togetherall

From fundraising and fitness to creativity and conversation, May has been full of inspiring moments – and none of it would be possible without YOU💚
