Hector’s House now offer a crisis text messenger service
We have just launched a crisis text messenger for people experiencing suicidal tor self harming thoughts.
Today (April 20 2019) marks the anniversary of Hector’s death. Every year that passes makes us more determined to ensure no other family has to go through the pain and loss we endure. So, it is with a sense of pride that we announce the launch of our new Hector’s House Crisis Messenger – a free, 24/7 text support service in partnership with Crisis Text Line.
By texting Hector to 85258, trained volunteers will be on hand to listen to a person going through urgent issues such as:
- Suicidal thoughts
- Abuse or assault
- Self-harm
- Bullying
- Difficult relationships
- Other mental health issues
Our CEO and sister to Hector – Lotte Stringer – said:
“We are so proud to be offering this crisis text line in memory of Hec. This text service will be available 24/7 and completely free of charge. We urge anyone going through a tough time to please get in touch with us. We are always, always here for you.
“We miss my brother Hector every single day, and we will never fill the void his death left. But we are so passionate about helping others to fight through mental health complications and suicidal thoughts. With support, we know that life can go on and get better for you.”
